The Home has six bedrooms, each named after a noted Commandant of the Indiana Veterans' Home.

Commandant Gilpin's Room

King-sized bed; two-window view of the front and side lawns; next to the front balcony.

A Canadian, the ninth Commandant (1933­36) received the Silver Star for gallantry in  action from General John J. Pershing for setting up a first-aid station near Argonne during the First World War.

 

 

 

Commandant Haggard's Room

Queen-sized bed; view of the carriage trail.

The fifth Commandant (1909­11) enlisted at the age of 14 and was taken prisoner during  the Civil War in 1862 at the Second Battle of Bull Run.

 

Commandant Seybert's Room

The seventh Commandant (1922­28) was a native of Bloomington, Indiana, and a state commander of the War Veterans.

 

 

 

Commandant Loudon's Room

King-sized bed; two-window view of the front lawn and the carriage house.

A graduate of Purdue and a Hoosier by birth, the thirteenth Commandant (1949­53) was an enlisted officer during the First World War.

 

Commandant Schmitz's Room

Queen-sized bed; view of the carriage house.

The fourteenth Commandant (1953­61) was born in Lafayette, and, during the First World War, received the French Commemorative Medal for his valuable service to France in the Purdue Ambulance Corps.

 

 

 

Commandant Arnold's Room

Queen-sized bed; two-window view of the carriage house and the Wabash River; next to the back porch.

The seventeenth Commandant (1973­78) was a colonel in the U.S. Army during the Second World War.
